A food truck serving Arabic food is coming soon! | Wichita By E.B.

Earlier this summer, I met a gentleman named Ayman Al- Barakat. He invited me to try some of his home cooking, not just any home cooking, but some homemade Arabic food. Some dishes, I tried included kafta, buttered chicken, chicken, and basmati rice with raisins and pecans along with a couple of shawarma sandwiches.

While some dishes may sound familiar, they all had their own different takes with an assortment of spices to give them a unique flavor I haven’t seen in Wichita.

Previously, he was invited to cook his dishes at theBarn in Burrton, KS. He told me, his dream was to open a food truck specializing in Arabic food and other influences. That dream is about to become a reality thanks to a local food truck owner who has allowed him to collaborate and use their truck. Personal Chef Roberto who serves Mexican and South American cuisine from his truck had kindly allowed Ayman to use the truck.

The new venture is called  ZAAKI .

Zaaki, will be introducing our local community to cuisines from his home of Jordan and other Arabian countries. To start, the owners of theBarn have welcomed him back to serve food every Sunday starting September 4 around 11 a.m.

Not only will Ayman’s food be available, but Personal Chef Roberto will also be selling his Mexican and South American cuisine as well.

Ayman is currently searching for a place in Wichita to serve food, but until then, Burrton, KS is the place to be. When I hear of a Wichita location, I’ll be sure to pass that on. Until then, be sure to follow Zaaki on Facebook.
