In this article we are going to focus on the three models mentioned in the table. Added to these three there is still a much lighter handheld model, the Xiaomi Electric Shaver S600, which has less power and benefits than its older sisters but in return it is much more transportable due to its featherweight and contained size.

We are also not going to pay attention to the Xiaomi Hair Clipper, razors more oriented to hair and not only to the beard. These models are not yet marketed in Spain although they may end up reaching our territory.

That said, let’s start with the first, the Xiaomi Electric Shaver S300. This shaver adopts a 3D floating design to better cover the skin’s surface, one of the keys to a good and close shave. Its double-layer blade avoids the need to make more passes to achieve a greater accuracy. Its charging point is protected by a rubber tab that hides the USB-C port. Its body is completely waterproof and has an IPX7 rating. Xiaomi guarantees an autonomy of 60 minutes with a full charge of 1.5 hours. When the battery level drops below 5%, the LED indicator flashes.

A step above is the S500 model, whose shaving system opts for 135 teeth in 15 groups. Three shaving blades in total, while the S700 model opts for five and mounts a much more resistant ceramic blade system with which Xiaomi guarantees 240 hours of shaving without visible wear or deterioration. Both models make their head in surgical stainless steelbut only the second has record durability, meeting the HV1200-1500 standard. Returning to the Xiaomi Electric Shaver S500 model, it could be said that it offers everything necessary for those looking for a well-groomed beard, using a double gear Mabuchi 260 motor.

And an important difference between this model and the S700 lies in the speeds: while the S500 has two gears, standard speed and high speed, the S700 has three configurations: at 3,100 rotations per minute, at 3,300 and at 3,500 rotations per minute.

Another key is found in the type of headstock finish: while the S500 model uses a body made of aluminum alloy and coated with PPG synthetic enamel, the S700 raises the stakes by means of a microtopological ring under each headstock, a plating that maintains a cold temperature to reduce friction and avoid skin irritation from overheating.

All three have an anti-fingerprint rubber (PPG) coating and achieve a 360º all-round shave, but only the latest model uses the patented Infinity Floating Technology (IFT). Xiaomi itself has spare parts for the S500 model and for the S700, but from Xiaomi Spain it is no longer possible to find spare parts for the Electric Shaver S300.

It is important to clarify the interaction differences as well. While the first model only has an on/off buttonthe second already has an LED screen where you can see four icons: charge level, drop icon to remind you when it is necessary to clean the accumulated hair, travel lock/unlock icon and icon with the type of speed.

Finally, the Xiaomi Electric Shaver S700 has two buttons but also has tactile micro-holes created by laser that are waterproof and have the shape of six icons with six values ​​to take into account: cleaning warning, speed, lock/unlock, level battery and speed or program in use. Its Series 6 aluminum body is 11% lighter than the previous modeldespite being somewhat heavier overall and, therefore, more uncomfortable to use during long sessions. In conclusion, all three are great options for shaving beards and even body hairwhether we have beards of greater or lesser hardness and length, although they are not suitable for longer and thicker beards, in which case we would recommend the Xiaomi Hair Clipper, with heads and brushes for beards greater than 3 cm.
